About Our Food
“Bringing Eelam Flavours to the World Since 1990”
Our story began with a longing for home. Inspired by the flavours of Jaffna, our founder turned family recipes into something special. What began as a home kitchen has now grown into a thriving space for Sri Lankan Tamils and food lovers alike. Every dish at Eelathu Suvai celebrates our roots, spices, and soul.
From bold mutton kothu to slow-cooked biryanis and seasonal dishes like Lumprais and Odiyal Kool, we serve tradition with every bite.

Our History

Humble Beginnings
It all began in a small kitchen where our founder recreated family recipes from Northern Sri Lanka to feed the local Tamil community in the UK.

First Catering Orders
Word spread. Soon, Eelathu Suvai was catering weddings, religious events, and temple festivals – serving authentic Jaffna-style dishes to the growing diaspora.

First Shopfront in London
We opened our first physical outlet in Hayes. A small but warm space where flavours of home met new customers from every walk of life.

“Beyond Kothu and Curry.”
We introduced Lumprais, Odiyal Kool, Rasavalli Kali and a range of short eats – reconnecting younger generations to lost flavours.

“Website Launch & Wider Reach.”
Now, we bring Eelathu Suvai to your screen. From takeaway to online catering orders, we're proud to share our food with more homes than ever before.
